Staying Safe

If you are experiencing persistent suicidal thoughts, a crisis or significant distress, it is strongly recommended that you seek immediate assistance.
  1. You can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if you are living in Australia) or any other similar crisis service available in your area (see below for list of Australian services).
  2. Get a friend, family member or someone close to be with you
  3. See your GP and/or mental health professional as soon as you can
  4. If an emergency, call an ambulance, taxi, or ask a family member, friend or neighbour to help you to get to the nearest hospital.
There are crisis related services available in Australia nationwide and in each of the states and territories.
